The Public Lands Rule requires the BLM to recognize conservation “as an essential component of public lands management.”

Basically, it requires the BLM to value conservation, clean water, public access, and wildlife as much as mining and oil and gas extraction.

The rule was finalized barely a year ago. 92% of public comments supported it. Now it’s on the chopping block.
