Meet Jessica Davison, founder of Bozeman-based Firebreak Management.

As a former wildland firefighter, Jessica has seen firsthand how wildfire affects Montana`s forests, homes, and communities. Today, she helps landowners prepare before fire season through home hardening, defensible space, and proactive forest management.

Wildfire resilience starts long before smoke is in the air. Healthy forests and proactive land management help reduce wildfire risk while protecting the people, wildlife, clean water, and public lands that make Montana special.

Today’s vote made Sen. Daines` priorities clear.

Sen. Steve Daines voted (not once, but twice) to support Mike Lee’s effort to eliminate the 2001 Roadless Rule through a last-minute amendment to a totally unrelated bill. That’s not standing with Montanans - it`s standing with out-of-state senators who want to sell off our public lands.

But this is not the end of the road.

This proposal still faces a long path forward and would need to clear multiple hurdles before becoming law. Today’s vote was one step in a much larger process.

We’ll keep fighting for Montana’s roadless public lands every step of the way.
