Today, at Smoke Elser’s barn in Missoula, Rep. Zinke announced the introduction of the A River Runs Through It Act, transforming decades of local collaboration into legislation before Congress.

The proposal balances conservation, recreation, forest management and timber jobs across the Blackfoot Valley.

If passed, the legislation would secure Montana’s first new wilderness designation since the 2014 Rocky Mountain Front Heritage Act.

This is a huge deal for the Blackfoot and for Montana.

In the midst of rolling back the Roadless Rule, the Forest Service is bringing travel management to the party.

The Travel Management Rule is basically the playbook that national forests use to decide where motor vehicles can and can’t go.

Repealing the Roadless Rule, eliminating the BLM Public Lands rule, revising the Travel Management Rule, slashing Forest Service staff and budgets, the list goes on.
